Have you ever come across a situation where you just wished you had the street-smarts, or at least did a quick preliminary Google-search to come to the conclusion that you should know better? I believe you could easily come up with a handful of cases. If it happened to you, chances are it happened to the majority of us. But don’t worry. Sometimes we simply don’t know better, because we didn’t know what to expect or look for. Make the mistake once, shame on them. Make the same mistake twice, shame on you!
There is a common expression, and one that we fully believe is applicable to travel as well, which goes: “Being prepared is half of the work done.” Now, there maybe slight variations of this expression. Whichever you choose to go by, preparation is more important than you may think. A classic example is to arrive at the airport and discovering that you were required to obtain a visa to enter your destination country. Another one is to finalize your outstanding hotel charges, and finding out that you reached your daily card limit. “But, dear authors, has this ever happened to you?” Uhmm.. no.. maybe… Fine! Yes, a similar case may have occurred to us in the past, but we handled the situation accordingly. We don’t run away from our obligations and responsibilities, and we expect every single one of you to behave accordingly as well.
Through our experiences and our own preliminary research, we realized that we were most likely not the only ones who would be dealing with these situations. And some of our travels may have gone completely different if we were just better prepared. Fortunately, you now have a great source to prepare yourselves better for your upcoming travels. You’re welcome!
